How to use a sanitary pad?

Learning how to use a sanitary pad is super simple.

Here’s how: Start with washing your hands with soap.

  1. Take the pad out of its wrapper.

  2. Peel the pad off the wrapper and remove the paper strip that covers the sticky part of the pad. Put the wrapper and strip in the bin.

  3. Press the sticky side of the pad into the centre of your knickers. If your pad has wings, wrap those around the sides of your panties.

You’re good to go! Don’t forget to wash your hands when you’re done.

Knowing how to wear a pad also means knowing how to change it. When you’re ready to change your pad, simply peel the pad off your knickers, wrap it up in toilet tissue or the wrapper it came in and bin it. Never flush it! This could cause the toilet to clog.

Ta da! You just learned how to use a sanitary pad.

Now it’s time to pick the right pad for you. We recommend Always Ultra pads. They have a special absorbent core that turns liquid into gel – and gel doesn’t leak!

This means your menstrual fluid is kept away from your skin for a dry, comfortable feel. Always Ultra also come in different sizes and absorbency levels, so you can get just the right fit for you.

How often should I change my pad?

We recommend changing your pad every 4 to 8 hours. If your flow is heavier, you may want to change your pad more frequently. If you wear your pad for too long, it may begin to leak. Check your pad every so often to see if it is filled up and needs to be changed.
