The new report, Menstrual Health & Hygiene “It’s Time to Talk”, is based on 13 surveys conducted in the UK between 2015 and 2020 as well as further research and analysis by Always and their research partners, including global children’s charity Plan International UK. 

__It underscores the importance of having open conversations about periods and offers educational guidance to facilitate discussions to help eradicate period stigma.__

The report finds that, in the UK:

The report outlines the key actions that Always has identified as critical to ending period stigma and period poverty by 2030. This includes:

The report also highlights the fact that if everyone talked openly about periods it would help young people with periods and women to feel more supported and confident. Reconfirming that everyone has a role to play in breaking the period stigma.
